Most Used Stitches

There are a gazillion incredible stitching options at your disposal. I highly recommend these two books for your reference. Stitch Sampler by Lucinda Ganderton and Mary Thomas's Dictionary of Embroidery Stitches revised by Jan Eaton.*

To simplify things for you though, if you do any of my kits or designs, these are the stitches that you will most likely be using. You can find tutorials for all of these online which would be better than anything I can type or draw. Youtube is your best friend here (as well as mine).

For Outlines and Borders:

Back Stitch, Chain Stitch, and Straight Stitch

For Filling in Space:

Satin Stitch and Long/Short Stitch

For Dots:

French Knot

For Tying up the back of the hoop when you are finished:
